OWEN CO. — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Ragle Inc. plans to begin bridge work next week on State Road 43 in Owen County.
On or after Monday, August 21, State Road 43 will close for approximately three months at the bridge over Big Racoon Creek, located four miles north of State Road 48.
During the closure, crews will replace the bridge deck and traffic will be routed along the official detour, which follows S.R. 46, I-69, and S.R. 48.
The $3.2 million contract also includes three other bridge rehabilitation projects on S.R. 43, S.R. 48, and S.R. 45. Those projects are expected to occur next year.
INDOT reminds motorists to slow down, use caution and drive distraction-free in and near construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
