Board member Scott Moore was in favor of the rezoning.

“I have heard nothing but great things about Bubbas Pizza and I don’t want this board to stand in their way,” he added.

The request will now be presented to the Bedford City Council for their approval.

The board also approved a request from Mark Murphy to subdivide his property located at 2208 35th Street into two lots.

Travis Norman of SWS Development presented the request. The land will be split so Mark Murphy can live on one lot which includes his current home and his son will build on the second lot.

The board approved the request. The request will now go to the Bedford Board of Works for approval.

A preliminary hearing for Forrest Lake, who requested to rezone his property at 1323 5th Street was tabled by the board because Lake failed to attend the meeting.

Lake was requested to rezone the property, a former car lot across from Hometown IGA from R-3 Medium Density Residential District to B-1 Convenience Business to open a barber shop.

Brandon Woodward also updated the board that Culver’s and Little Caesars are still looking to locate in Bedford. Little Ceasars is looking at a location near Burger King.

“Culver’s is looking for a good location,” added Woodward. “They are not giving up and are adamant about coming to Bedford.”
