Woman who violates probation is sentenced to prison

BEDFORD – Lawrence Superior Court II Judge Robert Cline sentenced a Bedford woman to prison after she failed to comply with the terms of her probation.

Shelbi M. Smith, 31, Bedford, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, on
January 5, 2023, as a part of a negotiated plea agreement with the State of Indiana. She was originally
sentenced to 910 days, with time served, and the remainder of his sentence suspended. She was
ordered to serve 545 days on supervised probation in exchange for her guilty plea.

Judge Bob Cline

On Thursday, August 3, after violating the terms and conditions of her condition on several occasions, Judge Cline revoked her suspended sentence and sentenced her to 800 days in the Indiana Department of Corrections.
