BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested Thursday night after Bedford Police officers responded to the 2000 block of Clover Lane after a report from a woman saying her ex-husband was entering her apartment through her bedroom window.
When police arrived, they found the caller and 58-year-old Edward Andis standing outside the apartment.
The woman told police she was in her bedroom asleep when she woke to find Andis entering the room through the window. Andis admitted to being intoxicated and entering the apartment through the window. The woman just wanted Andis to leave and not return. Police told Andis to leave and not return.
A short time later, the woman called the police again saying Andis was back at her apartment. He took off running before the officers arrived. Officers found Andis at 26th and U streets and he was detained. He first denied returning to the woman’s apartment but later admitted he had returned.
Andis was arrested on charges of public intoxication, burglary, and residential entry.
Police alerted the woman that Andis had been arrested.
