BEDFORD – On Tuesday, June 19, 2023, the Lawrence County Commissioners approved a proposal presented by Administrative Director Travis Sanders to change the hours of the Lawrence County Courthouse, and the offices held within.
Effective July 31, 2023, the Lawrence County Courthouse, and the offices within, will be open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Affected offices include the Auditor, Assessor, Treasurer, Recorder, Clerk, Surveyor, Administration, and Circuit Court.
Additionally, in the Courthouse Plaza, Superior Court II will be updating to the same hours of operation. Superior Court I has already been running on an 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. schedule.
Other county offices the Public Defender, Prosecutor, Probation, Health Department, etc. have reserved the right to adjust their public hours to coincide. The public will be notified of any additional changes.
