MITCHELL – Samuel Tuell, 69, Mitchell, was arrested after police say he violated a lifetime parole condition.

Tuell was arrested on July 23, at 7:05 p.m. after Lawrence County Central Dispatch received a call from a female stating Tuell was at a trailer in the 2000 block of Spice Valley Road with a woman and her 10-year-old daughter.

Police learned from the caller that Tuell had permission to live in a trailer on the property, but was to stay in the camper. Police say Tuell listed his address in the 500 block of South Meridian Road in Mitchell.

Police contacted Tuell’s parole officer and learned Tuell did have permission to stay in the camper but had not told officers that a woman and a child were living on the property. Police learned Tuell had been living in the trailer and not the camper for more than six months and had ample time to update his address.

Police obtained a search warrant for the property on Spice Valley Road. They executed that search warrant at 7:55 p.m.

When police arrived Tuell answered the door and he was detained. Tuell told police he was only at the trailer to “eat supper”.
