Streetlight upgrade approved for Duke Energy contracts

BEDFORD – Duke Energy’s contracts to upgrade streetlights in Bedford were approved last week at the City of Bedford Board of Works and Safety meeting.

The new lighting will be similar to those on Patrick Robbins Way.

The City entered into a 10-year agreement with Duke Energy and Indiana EE RiderXLef. The cost will be $5,170.42 a month.

  • Phase 1 – Monthly Charge $1,305.95 for 10 Years
  • Phase 2 – Monthly Charge $1,342.84 for 10 Years
  • Phase 3 – Monthly Charge $1,330.01 for 10 Years
  • Phase 4 – Monthly Charge $1,196.62 for 10 Years

The process will gradually replace and update all the street lights in Bedford. Once the new lighting is installed this will be a cost-saver for the city.
