FREDERICKSBURG – A Washington County child was injured after being struck by a vehicle on Wednesday, July 19 at 9403 South Horners Chaple Road in Fredericksburg.
Washington County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call reporting the accident at 9:16 p.m. Deputies and first responders rushed to the scene.
According to investigating Sergeant Matt Hein, a four-year-old child was struck by a vehicle in the driveway of the home.
Witnesses told police that the little boy ran toward the vehicle, which was being driven by a juvenile family member, slipped, and fell under the vehicle. The left rear tire ran over the child.
The child was treated at the scene by members of the Washington County Ambulance Service and Posey Township Volunteer Fire Department first responders and then transported by a medical helicopter to Norton Children’s in Louisville.
This incident remains under investigation.
