Low-income families can now apply for the On My Way Pre-K grant

INDIANA – On My Way Pre-K, Indiana’s grant-based pre-kindergarten program, is accepting applications for the 2023–2024 school year.

On My Way Pre-K awards grants to 4-year-olds from low-income families so that they may have access to a high-quality pre-K program the year before they begin kindergarten.

Starting July 1, the program’s eligibility expanded to include more Hoosier households. Families with an annual income of up to $45,000 for a family of four (up from $34,000) now qualify.

Pre-K education plays a crucial role in developing social and learning skills, preparing children for kindergarten and beyond. Studies by Purdue University’s Center for Early Learning show that students in the On My Way Pre-K program were better prepared for kindergarten and achieved higher scores on ILEARN tests.
