Gov. Holcomb announces Judicial Appointments for Allen and Delaware Counties

INDIANAPOLIS – Governor Eric J. Holcomb today announced two judicial appointments in Allen and Delaware Counties.

Ashley Niccole Hand

Ashley Niccole Hand has been appointed to the Allen Circuit Court and will replace Judge Wendy Davis who resigned effective March 14 due to her run for Indiana’s third congressional district.

Hand currently serves as a senior magistrate in the Allen Circuit Court where she primarily handles family law cases. Prior to her appointment as a magistrate, she worked in private practice with a focus on family law and civil cases such as employment discrimination and insurance claims. She is a board member of the Allen Circuit Court Problem Solving Court, Inc. which provides financial support to participants to assist with housing costs, medical treatment, or court fees.

Hand received an undergraduate degree from Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne and a law degree from Indiana University McKinney School of Law.

Douglas Kenneth Mawhorr

Gov. Holcomb appointed Douglas Kenneth Mawhorr to the Delaware Circuit Court 3. Mawhorr will replace Judge Linda Ralu Wolf who will resign effective Aug. 31.

Since 2014, Mawhorr has served as a deputy prosecutor for the Delaware County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Prior to his role as a deputy prosecutor, he worked for a law firm in Muncie and as a part-time public defender.

Mawhorr received an undergraduate degree from Wabash College and a law degree from Indiana University McKinney School of Law.

Hand and Mawhorr will be sworn in as Judges on a date to be determined.
