Bedford man arrested on drug charges

BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested on drug charges on Tuesday, July 11 after Bedford Police officers were requested to assist a Lawrence County Probation officer at a home at 1609 16th Street.

Probation Officer Raquel Turner was searching the home of 59-year-old Timothy Brinegar and located what appeared to be meth and marijuana. The drugs were found in the primary bedroom.

Bedford Police officers Robert Harris and Sarah Haluda responded.

In the bedroom officers found a glass smoking device and a plastic baggy laying on a tray at the end of the bed.

According to Probation Officer Raquel Turner, the glass smoking device tested positive for marijuana and the plastic bag tested positive for meth. Police also found a silver vape with at THC cartridge in it.

Brinegar was arrested on charges of possession of meth, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Timothy was placed in custody and escorted to Officer Haluda’s
patrol vehicle. Timothy advised that a guest at the house (Karen Moore) could
stay at the residence and lock up his residence. Officer Haluda transported
Timothy to the Bedford Police Department for processing then to the Lawrence
County Jail for housing.

All items were photographed, packaged and placed into evidence lock-up.

Timothy Brinegar was arrested on probable cause for the following charges:

  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Paraphernalia

No arrest warrant need be issued. The defendant has been placed in the custody of the Lawrence County Sheriff. The defendant was placed in custody on 07/11/2023
