When police arrived at 1007 18th Street at 9:23 a.m. they located Goen outside on the northwest side of the home screaming. He was requested to come to the front of the home.

While dealing with Goen other officers spoke to a female who was inside with her children. She told police that Goen, her boyfriend, became agitated when she woke him and shared with him that she was leaving to go get a vehicle that had been stolen. Goen approached her from behind and placed his forearm around her neck and stomach.

She was able to “wiggle” and push him away. The fight moved to the floor, where she attempted to strike and push Goen away. He began punching her face with his fists. He then placed his hands around her neck and squeezed.

All three children were present during the altercation.

She was able to get up, but Goen pushed her onto a bed and pinned her down. He then began to wipe the blood off her, saying nothing was wrong.

While taking photos of the woman’s injuries and the disarray in the home, police noticed a glass smoking device. That device tested positive for meth.

An IU LifeLine ambulance arrived on the scene and treated the female. She then signed a battery affidavit and Goen was detained and transported to jail.
