Seymour man arrested on child solicitation charge

SEYMOUR – Mark Snyder, 55, of Seymour, is facing a felon charge of child solicitation for soliciting a minor over an app.

Snyder was arrested Thursday, May 25.

On May 20, patrol officers responded to the 700 block of North Elm Street after Exposing Predators of Indiana reported a male had allegedly solicited a minor for sexual acts and was sending nude photos to the minor over the internet.

On Tuesday, May 23, investigators armed with Jackson Superior Court I search warrant to obtain content from the web-based application.

On Thursday, May 25, a second Jackson Superior Court I search warrant was obtained for a residence in the 700 block of North Elm Street to search the location for evidence of child solicitation.

During the search, police say several items of evidentiary value were located and seized. Later that day Snyder was detained at 3:51 p.m. He is being held without bond in the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown until his initial hearing.
