Stars finish second in HHC tournament

EDINBURGH – Bedford North Lawrence carded a season-best team score while finishing second in the Hoosier Hills Conference tournament during boys high school golf action on Monday afternoon at Timbergate Golf Course.

The Stars posted 309, finishing 10 shots off the pace set by Floyd Central.

Jett Jones paced BNL with a 2-over 74, including birdies on the second, fourth and 16th holes, to earn All-HHC honors. Colton Staggs fired a 76 that featured three birdies (holes 3, 5 and 16) while earning Honorable Mention league status.

Drew McKee (79 with four birdies) and Tyler Bellush (80) capped the team scoring for the Stars.

New Albany’s Blaine Hamilton was the medalist with a 2-under 70, while Floyd’s Josh Anderson was second in the individual race with 72.

BNL will visit Seymour on Tuesday.
