Troopers investigate single-vehicle fatal crash in Knox County

KNOX CO. – On Friday night, May 12, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Indiana State Police and Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle crash in the area of Monroe School Road near Small Road that claimed the life of a Vincennes man.

The driver was identified as Keeton Walker, 20, of Vincennes. Walker was trapped inside the 2006 Mercedes and had to be extricated by the Harrison Twp. Fire Department.

Walker’s passenger, Dalton Kirby, 20, of Vincennes, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kirby was not wearing a seat belt. Walker was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes but was later transferred to Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville where he is currently being treated for serious injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
