Two issued summons to appear in court after canine Fleck detects drugs

BEDFORD – Two people were arrested after Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Michael Williams and Deputy Thomas Porter conducted a traffic stop along State Road 37 and 5th Street.

The offices stopped the vehicle after witnessing a male passenger throwing trash out of the window

During the stop, Sgt. Williams deployed his canine, Fleck, who gave a positive alert to possible drugs in the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, police found a controlled substance.

Both the driver 40-year-old Anya Johnson and her passenger 44-year-old Jeremy Morris were issued summons to appear in court. Morris was also issued a citation for littering.
