October 10, 1939 – May 6, 2023

Jerry W. Allen, 83, of Mitchell, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 6, 2023, at his residence.

Born October 10, 1939, in Mitchell, he was the son of Noble Winford “Speck” and Bertha Mary (Mann) Allen. He married Judy Marie McNeely on July 6, 1963, and she survives.

Jerry was a 1957 graduate of Mitchell High School. He retired in 2003 from Lehigh Cement Company with 29 years of service. His life drastically changed for the better in 1969 when he met Jesus. Jerry had a calling to the ministry and founded The Bride of Christ Fellowship in 1978 where he tirelessly and faithfully ministered for 45 years as Pastor. His passion to serve His Savior was the center of his life and his impact on those he touched is immeasurable. To meet him was to be his friend and he knew everyone in Mitchell. Jerry was always current on new technologies, even using them as part of his ministry. He loved to read his Bible, mow, fish, hunt mushrooms, and watch his grandkids in their many activities.

Survivors include his wife, Judy “Sweet Jude;” children, April (Greg) Isom, Jon (Kim) Allen, Angela (Ray) Luther, and Jeremiah Allen; grandchildren, Jon Carl (Cari) Isom, Thomas (Delanie) Isom, Victoria (Ben) Burris, Leyton Allen, Joe Luther, Nico Luther, Dallys Allen, Dayton, and Cleo; great-grandchildren “sugar poppers,” Norah and Charlotte Isom, Fynleigh and Raegyn Deckard, and two more on the way; and sister, Portia Chapman. He is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family.

His parents; sisters, Lana Allen, Patty Leonard, Peggy Earl, and Jan Deckard; and brother, Jon Allen, preceded him in death.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 11, at The Bride of Christ Fellowship with Brothers Greg Isom, Sam Pemberton, and Andy Pemberton officiating. Burial will be at Mitchell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at The Bride of Christ Fellowship and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the church.
