Mitchell High School boys, girls both finish 5th at Patoka Lake Athletic Conference meet

LEOPOLD – Mitchell High School made the trip to Leopold on Friday to compete for a Patoka Lake Athletic Conference championship, with both the boys and girls teams ultimately falling short of the crown.

The boys finished in fifth place, scoring 43 points with Springs Valley emerging victorious with a final total of 161 points.

Though the team boys did not come away with any first-place finishes on the day, a few Bluejackets finished as runners-up in their respective events, those being Adam Oster in the 400 (53.37) and Nate Robertson in Discuss (132′ 5″).

Mitchell’s girls also took fifth place on the day, scoring 51 points as Perry Central finished atop the group with 128 total.

Zoey Smith earned the team’s lone second-place finish for the event in the 800 (2:41.49).
