Mitchell High School’s Rylan Simpson named Genius Jock for the month of May

MITCHELL –Rylan Simpson, a senior at Mitchell High School, has been named the Genius Jock for the month of May presented by the attorneys at Pittman Law firm, Greg Pittman and Michelle Woodward.

Simpson, the daughter of  Jill and Ross Simpson, is a four-year member of the state champion Stingerz dance team while maintaining a GPA of 3.78.

She has been an active member of various clubs and groups within the school, including SADD, National Honor Society, Peer Leader, BC2M, and Student Council.

Rylan has also been an active member of the Mitchell community, giving to the nursing home during the pandemic, and assisting with dance clinics for the community and a dance fundraiser for children in need.

In 2021, Rylan was named Persimmon Festival Queen. She is also a previous winner of Miss Teen Applause.

After graduating, she plans to attend Ball State University, where she will major in Elementary Education with a minor in Communications.
