Man arrested after police find meth, syringes, and drug paraphernalia

SPRINGVILLE – A Springville man is behind bars after police responded to a home in the 50 block of Airy Hills Lane to arrest 39-year-old Justin Hobson who was staying at a home and was wanted on a warrant for petition to revoke his probation in Lawrence County and an active warrant in Monroe County.

Around 11 p.m., Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Cpl. Whitney Daugherty, Officer Bailey Duprey, and Officer Thomas Porter went to the residence. Upon approach, they observed Hobson, who fled through the house. Officers located Hobson hiding in a bedroom and took him into custody without further incident.

While arresting Hobson, drug paraphernalia and used syringes were observed in plain view.

Officers applied for, and obtained, a search warrant for the residence. During a subsequent search, police found Hobson was in possession of methamphetamine. He was arrested and incarcerated in the Lawrence County Jail for two warrants, and new charges of possession of meth, unlawful possession of hypodermic syringes, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
