Bailey logs distance double as Stars run past Edgewood

BNL’s Jonah Bailey won the 1600 and 3200 races during Tuesday’s meet at Edgewood.

ELLETTSVILLE – Jonah Bailey was a double winner as Bedford North Lawrence conquered Edgewood 78-54 during boys high school track action on Tuesday.

In the girls meet, the Mustangs won every event while cruising to a 110-22 triumph.

Bailey posted a distance double as he crossed first in the 1600 meter race (4:48.03) and 3200 (10:52.01).

Other winners for the Stars included Zane Thompson (11.78 in the 100), Jerrett GIlbert (54.24 in the 400), Hiram Mullis (48.80 in the 300 hurdles), Brayden Patterson (6-2 in the high jump), Frank Decker (11-6 in the pole vault), Jimmy Farmer (127-3 in the discus) and the 400 relay team (48.32).

In the girls meet, BNL settled for four second-place finishes: Fransesca Orozco in the 1600 (6:10.82), Trinity Schmeichel in the 300 hurdles (57.01), Ellie Anderson in the long jump (15-6) and Katie Baumgart in the discus (90–3).

BNL will host its annual 9-10 Invitational on Thursday.
