The deadline is today to file for the MCCSC Accelerated Learning Program for Students

BLOOMINGTON – It is time to begin planning for the 2023-2024 school year! Beginning in 3rd grade, MCCSC offers an Accelerated Learning Program for Students (ALPS).

This program serves the entire MCCSC Corporation through self-contained classes at each grade level, 3-6. Beginning with the 2023-24 school year, our 3rd and 4th grade ALPS classrooms will be part of Fairview Elementary. As these students age, 5th and 6th-grade classrooms will also be at Fairview; transportation will be provided.

The application deadline is today, April 17.

Based on data from test scores, some students will be sent invitations to apply for the program through the U.S. Mail.

Any student may apply for the MCCSC high-ability programs, regardless of if an invitation to apply was received.

The following are the required application materials:

  • The family provides parent referral (linked) and student-selected writing samples.
  • The school provides teacher referrals, classroom writing samples, and report cards.

You may send application documents electronically (msmith@mccsc.edu), by fax (812-330-7813), or drop them off at the High Ability Office at the MCCSC Administration Building located at 315 East North Drive, 47401.
