Bloomington man arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated

BEDFORD – A Bloomington man was arrested after a  Bedford Police officer stopped his vehicle on Sunday, April 16th for not having working headlights and taillights. The driver was also weaving within its land of travel.

The officer stopped the vehicle at 12:31 a.m. at John Williams Boulevard and T Street.

The driver, 28-year-old Carl Heinisch, of Bloomington, told police he was on his way home from a friend’s house. 

Police say Heinisch was intoxicated. He did admit he had a few beers while at his friend’s house.

Heinisch failed field sobriety tests and was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and OWI endangerment.

His vehicle was towed by Jackson’s Heavy Haul.
