BNL’s Unified track records two wins

MOORESVILLE – Bedford North Lawrence posted wins over Bloomington North and Mooresville during Unified track action on Thursday.

The Stars totaled 121 points to top the Cougars (115) and Pioneers (100).

Winners for BNL included Rylan Sheeley (29-1 in the shot put) and the 400 relay team of Ethan Robinson, Koltyn Clute, Josh Morales and Brax Huber (59.73).

“Our kids came out fighting, and although we only finished with two firsts, we finished every heat with at least one – many times two – top three finishes,” BNL coach Mike Branam said. “When the kids come out and perform like that, it really makes a difference in the final scores. We had several kids come out tonight and pick up where they left off last year. We saw numerous career bests tonight, and starting off the season like that is very promising.

“These kids just wouldn’t quit. They are all amazing competitors. They want to win. They want to outperform their seeds. They go into every event looking for some way to improve themselves, and they are very supportive of one another. These kids are fun to coach, and they are fun to watch.”

BNL will visit Jasper on Wednesday.
