BEDFORD – North Lawrence Community Schools has released an official statement addressing audit reports released by the Indiana State Board of Accounts on March 30 and 31, which noted errors in the district’s financial reports from the 2018-2020 and 2020-2022 school years.

The full statement from NLCS is below:
“The State Board of Accounts audit reports for the 2018-2020 and 2020-22 school years identified several accounting errors and omissions that resulted in unreconciled accounts. These errors were the result of a failure to follow internal controls. The current NLCS Board of Trustees, administration, and staff are following current policy and procedures. Internal controls are now in place to assure our accounting practices are in full compliance. NLCS will release more information at a later date detailing any action to be taken to complete the reconciliation of accounts as authorized by the SBOA.”
