HAMMOND − Reservations are being accepted for the 2023 Northwest Indiana Partners for Clean Air Luncheon and Award Ceremony. The annual luncheon will be from 11 a.m. to approximately 2 p.m. on Friday, May 5, in The Clipper Room at the Hammond Port Authority, 701 Casino Drive in Hammond. The event will feature speakers, networking, lunch, an electric school bus, a prize giveaway, scholarship award presentations, and the annual awards ceremony.
Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) Commissioner, Brian Rockensuess, will provide an update on the agency during his keynote address.
Four awards will be presented in each of the following categories: business, municipal, industrial, and the Mark Siminski Bicycle Award. The winners will be selected from among nominees submitted to the Partners for Clean Air (PCA) Steering Committee earlier this year.
The event will also include a presentation from PCA scholarship winners. PCA will award one or more scholarships of $2,500 to qualified high school seniors in Lake, Porter, or LaPorte counties to assist with post-secondary education expenses.
