Police seize a large amount of meth and a woman is now behind bars

BEDFORD – Today, at approximately 12:20 a.m., Lawrence County Sheriff’s Officer Whitney Daugherty conducted a traffic stop along State Road 37, near Wesley Chapel Road on a vehicle with an expired license plate.

During the course of the stop, Officer Daugherty observed indicators of criminal activity and requested a canine to the scene. Oolitic Town Marshal James Harrington arrived with his partner Deny Joe who alerted police to possible drugs in the vehicle.

Lawrence County Captain Chris Anderson and Officer Bailey Duprey also assisted with the investigation.

Timber Tarr

In a search of the vehicle, police found the backseat female passenger, 34-year-old Timber Tarr, of Bedford, was in possession of more than 26 grams of methamphetamine, a glass smoking device, and pills.

Tarr was arrested on felony charges of possession of meth, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
