Thomas W. “Fritz” Vance, 83, of Bedford passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at 8:14 p.m. at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
He was born on October 6, 1939, to Norval and Martha (Gross) Vance in Norwood, Ohio.
He is survived by two children, Jeff (Lisa) Vance and Cindy Vance both of Bedford. One grandson, Jared (Abby) Vance, and two great-grandchildren, Grayson Vance and Vera Vance.
Tom owned and operated V & M Floor Covering for over 40 years and for a 10-year period was the owner of Hoover’s Candy. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of the North Vernon Masonic Lodge. His last hour was spent, watching ME-TV, eating vanilla ice cream, and talking on the phone to his bestie, Kenny Dalton plotting his escape from the hospital. It was the perfect ending to his life this side.
Per his wishes, cremation and private burial were chosen.
Cresthaven Funeral Home is entrusted with his care.
