Columbus man arrested crashes truck into a Bartholomew County house and is arrested

BARTHOLOMEW CO. — A Columbus man was arrested after he drove his pickup truck through the front window of a house in Bartholomew County.

The accident was reported at 10:21 a.m., Friday morning in the 43000 block of North County Road 200 West.

According to the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, luckily no one was home when the Ford F-350 crashed into the front of the house, busting through the large picture window.

The driver, 22-year-old Noah Rutan was arrested on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Rutan was later released after he was found to be eligible based on the proxy release matrix, meaning he was not required to post his $5,000 bond before being released.
