Man arrested after traveling more than 100 miles per hour on I-69

WASHINGTON – Washington Police arrested an Indianapolis man Tuesday on a charge of reckless driving and possession of a firearm by a felon after they spotted him driving north on I-69 at more than 100 miles per hour.

Police arrested 32-year-old Gregory De Leon Vega. He is being held without bond in the Daviess County Security Center.

At approximately 9:08 p.m., a Daviess County Sheriff’s Department deputy was traveling north on I-69 when they observed a vehicle heading south at a speed of 122 miles per hour.

The vehicle took the Washington exit and was subsequently pulled over by a Washington Police Department officer and Vega was detained.
