Neighbor alerts police after woman suffers a busted lip during a domestic dispute

BEDFORD – On Monday, March 13th, a woman contacted the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department requesting an officer to the 80 block of Gun Club Road after a woman reported her neighbor had come to her home with a bloody lip following a domestic fight.

A Mitchell police officer and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputy responded.

Nathan Henderson

The accused 23-year-old Nathan Henderson was inside the mobile home and the woman’s two small children were inside the home with him. Officers detained Henderson.

Henderson told police that he and the victim “have been having a rough time with him being without a job”. He said they had been arguing about him not having a job. Henderson said the woman had hit him in the face which angered him and he hit her back.

Police say the male had no visible marks on his face.

The victim denied hitting Henderson. She claims Henderson hit her multiple times in the mouth, left ear, and abdomen with his fist and then choked her. She then went into the bathroom and then outside to the neighbors for help.

The woman signed a battery affidavit and Henderson was arrested on charges of domestic battery, and strangulation and he was transported to jail.
