Motion to continue filed in Blattert case, trial to now begin in May

BEDFORD – The start date for the trial of Scott A. Blattert has been moved following the State of Indiana filing a motion to continue.

Previously set to start on Feb. 21, the trial will now begin May 15.

The emergency motion to continue was filed by Lawrence County Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Jennifer Tucker-Young due to an ongoing medical issue in her family.

Blattert is facing charges of strangulation, a Level 3 felony; aggravated battery, a Level 3 felony, three counts of domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, a Level 6 felony and five counts domestic battery causing injury to a person under 14, a Level 5 felony, related to the alleged abuse of his children.
