Norman man injured after truck rolls into ditch

MITCHELL – A Norman man was injured after his pickup rolled into a ditch on Sonny Dorsett Road.

According to a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department report, the accident was reported at 12:01 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10th at State Road 60 and Sonny Dorsett Road.

According to police, Matthew Chamber, 30, of Norman, was traveling in a gray 2016 Ford F-350 north on Sonny Dorsett Road, just north of the railroad crossing at the intersection of State Road 60 West. The truck got too close to the edge of the roadway due to oncoming traffic. The passenger tire of the truck went off the roadway and caused the truck to roll onto its side into the ditch.

Police say the roadway surface in that area has eroded and was also a contributing factor to the crash.

Chambers complained of arm and shoulder pain and was transported to IU Bedford Hospital for treatment.

The total estimate of all damages is between $5,001 to $10,000.
