Obituary: Lee Karr

July 22, 1938 – February 1, 2023

Lee Karr, 84, of Mitchell passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 3:07 p.m. at IU Health Bedford Hospital.

He was born on July 22, 1938, in Osawatomie, Kansas to Earl Edward Karr and Blanche McKenzie. Lee married Mary Alice Karr on December 30, 1986, and she preceded him in death on August 24, 2022.

Lee retired from General Motors in Bedford, was a US Army veteran, a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, he was a reserve deputy with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department.

Survivors include three sons, Marty (Wahneta) Karr of Plainfield, Todd Karr of New Palestine, and Lonnie Johnson of Orleans, and one daughter, Lisa (Michael) Reynolds of Mitchell, two brothers, Michael (Debbie) Karr of Biggers, Arkansas, Timmy (Anita) Karr of Fayetteville, Arkansas, one sister, Frances (Larry) Cox of Mountain Home, Arkansas, eight grandchildren, Haley Karr, Nick Karr, Joshua (Sara) Johnson, Kayla Ann Johnson, Cole (Cameryn) Reynolds, Ethan (Jacklyn) Reynolds, Haleigh (Brad) Albin and Teighan Johnson, eight great-grandchildren, Elijah Johnson, Ada Johnson, Lilly Reynolds, Charlee Reynolds, Joshua Bookwalter, Cleo Reynolds, Wyatt Reynolds, and Brooklyn Reynolds.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Pauline Virginia (Patterson) Karr, his wife, Mary Alice Karr

Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home, entombment will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens, and military rites will be given by the Mitchell American Legion Post 250, visitation will be on Saturday from Noon until service time at 2:00 p.m.
