Arrest made in connection to the 2018 armed gas station robbery in Washington

WASHINGTON – An Alma, Illinois man has been arrested for the April 2018 armed robbery at Chuckles Gas Station on State Road 57 North in Washington.

A warrant was issued for 21-year-old Jacob Lindsey of Alma, Illinois. He was arrested by the Marion County Illinois Sheriff’s Office Tuesday.

A nearly five-year investigation by detectives led to a warrant for arrest being issued earlier in January.

The Marion County (Illinois) Sheriff’s Office assisted the Washington Police Department with this arrest.

Lindsey waived extradition to be returned to Indiana during a Marion County Court appearance on Monday.  Bond on the warrant is set at $250,000 with no 10-percent provision.

Police said numerous agencies have assisted in the investigation including Indiana State Police, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, Marion County Illinois Sheriff’s Office, Effingham County Illinois Sheriff’s Office, and the Daviess County Prosecutor.
