Edinburgh police seize more than 230 grams of meth and six pounds of marijuana, two arrested

EDINBURGH — Police seized more than 230 grams of methamphetamine and six pounds of marijuana at an Edinburgh home after a four-month investigation and two men are now behind bars.

According to the Edinburgh Police Department news release, the department used its two newly-formed narcotics teams throughout the investigation to find drugs during traffic stops on people leaving a residence in the 900 block of South Holland Street. Canine Kiara recovered 11 grams of meth during one of the traffic stops.

When police executed a search warrant on the home, Canine Skye helped officers find about 234 grams of meth and six pounds of marijuana, according to police.

Police arrested 62-year-old Thomas Burton and 55-year-old Donald Knight, both of Edinburgh.

Burton was charged with dealing meth, possession of methamphetamine over 28 grams, maintaining a common nuisance, dealing marijuana with a prior conviction, and maintaining a common nuisance.

Knight was charged with possession of meth and maintaining a common nuisance.
