A traffic stop leads to the discovery of one pound of meth

SULLIVAN CO. – On Friday, December 30, at approximately 12:55 a.m., Trooper Austin Robertson of the Putnamville State Police Post, stopped a 2005 Ford Mustang for an equipment violation on County Road 200 East near County Road 650 North.

The driver was identified as Edward D. Beegle, 52, of Shelburn. 

During the conversation with Beegle, criminal indicators were detected, and a search of the vehicle was conducted.  Trooper Robertson discovered approximately one pound of methamphetamine and precursors to manufacture methamphetamine. 

Beagle was arrested and taken to the Sullivan County jail where he is currently being detained on felony charges of dealing meth over 5 grams, possession of meth, and possession of precursors to manufacture meth.
