SEYMOUR – On November 20, patrol officers with the Seymour Police Department received information regarding a sex offense that occurred in Seymour, Indiana. The report originally came from the Round Lake, Illinois Police Department.
Investigators conducted interviews with the 6-year-old female victim and the 38-year-old male suspect. A forensic interview with the victim was also conducted at the Child Advocacy Center Susie’s Place, in Bloomington. The victim disclosed that the suspect had sex with her on at least two occasions.
On December 8, 2022, investigators took the suspect into custody at his home in Seymour. The suspect, identified as Luis Armando Lopez-Calvo, 38, of Seymour, was arrested for two counts of child molesting, both felonies. Lopez-Calvo was transported to the Jackson County Jail where he was remanded into the custody of the jail division.
The Round Lake Illinois Police Department and the Indiana Department of Child Services assisted in the investigation.
