Orange County pursuit ends in cornfield near Crawford County line early Wednesday morning

PAOLI – Early Wednesday morning, Officers with the Paoli Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle on West Main Street that was driving a vehicle with what appeared to be false plates.

The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and the officer pursued it. The driver, identified as Mustang Beckham, led officers on a 20-minute chase throughout the county before eventually crashing in a cornfield just inside the Crawford County line on Zoo Road.

Beckham fled on foot but was tased and eventually caught by officers. It was discovered that Beckham had outstanding warrants for his arrest in Crawford County for kidnapping, criminal confinement, domestic battery in the presence of a minor, and domestic battery on a pregnant woman.

Beckham was also a Habitual Traffic Violator. Beckham was cleared at the Hospital and housed at the Orange County Jail for his new resisting charges and his warrants.
