BEDFORD – Italy Lewis was chosen as the Distinguished Young Woman of Lawrence County Class of 2023.
Bedford North Lawrence High School students Lewis and Katelyn Moody were awarded scholarship money as part of the annual county DYW program.
As part of Lewis’ DYW status, she will receive a $1,200 scholarship. Lewis also won category awards for fitness, interview, talent, and scholastic, which will total another $400.
Lewis is the daughter of Allison and Scott Lewis. She plans to attend either Indiana University Kelly School of Business or Purdue Krannert School of Management to major in Accounting or Business Analytics.
Lewis was awarded a medallion from 2022 DYW winner Mavis Arthur.
Lewis will advance to the Indiana State program to be held in Kokomo, in February 2023.
Katelyn Moody was awarded First Runner Up as well as the category award for Self-Expression, totaling $900 in scholarship money. She is the daughter of Danielle and Keith Moody. She plans to attend IUPUI and major in Forensic Science.
