Expired license plates leads to the discovery of meth and cocaine

VIGO CO – At approximately 4:55 p.m., on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, Trooper Gerald Stump was patrolling near 2nd Avenue and North 24th, when he stopped a vehicle for an expired license plate.

The driver was identified as Thomas Boatman, 51, of Clinton.  Suspicious activity was detected, and a search of the vehicle was conducted.  During the search of Boatman’s vehicle, Trooper Stump located marijuana, paraphernalia, cocaine, and methamphetamine. 

Boatman was detained on charges of possession of meth with a prior conviction, possession of meth, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia

A passenger in the vehicle, Eric Wise, 47, of Terre Haute was also arrested on a charge of possession of meth.
