Gov. Holcomb announces judicial appointments for Warrick County Superior Court and Clark County Circuit Court

INDIANAPOLIS – Gov. Eric J. Holcomb Wednesday announced two judicial appointments for Warrick and Clark Counties. The governor appointed Kristina Hamby Weiberg to the Warrick County Superior Court No. 1. Hamby Weiberg succeeds Judge J. Zach Winsett who resigned June 30, 2022. 

Hamby Weiberg, a resident of Warrick County since 2007, is currently a Magistrate Judge in Vanderburgh County and previously served as the court administrator. She has served as a pro tem judge in Warrick County for the past several months. Hamby Weiberg received a bachelor of arts from Indiana University and her law degree from Valparaiso University School of Law.      

Gov. Eric J. Holcomb also announced Nicholas A. Karaffa as his appointment to the Clark County Circuit Court No. 1. Karaffa will replace Judge Daniel Moore who is set to retire January 1, 2023. 

Karaffa currently is the court administrator for the Clark County judicial system. Previously he has been in private practice and served as a public defender in Clark, Jefferson and Scott counties. Karaffa received a bachelor of arts from Transylvania University and his law degree from the Northern Kentucky University, Salmon P. Chase College of Law.      

Kristina Hamby Weiberg and Nicholas A. Karaffa will be sworn in at a later dates to be determined.
