A violent attack during a domestic fight leads to a Bedford man’s arrest

BEDFORD – A Bloomington man was arrested when Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies were called to the services station on Old State Road 37 after a report of a domestic fight.

When officers arrived they found a woman inside with a cut to her right temple, crying.

The woman reported that she and 44-year-old Justin Strole were in his vehicle in her driveway on Teddy Bird Lane when Strole held her by her hair, repeatedly punched her in the face, and hit her in the head with a mirror several times. He also headbutted her leaving a bump on the top of her head.

The woman claimed Strole grabbed her phone and threw it out of the vehicle window, hitting a barn and breaking it.

During the incident, the woman alleged Strole also pulled a knife on her while they drove north on State Road 37 from her home. She said Strole “opened the knife and feigned stabbing motions at her as he said, I dare you, explicative”.

Police observed several bruises on her arms and a split lip that appeared to be from a kick to her mouth.

Officers took the woman back to her home on Teddy Bird Lane and found the broken phone on the ground near the barn. The information was forwarded to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office and a warrant was issued for Strole’s arrest on charges of domestic battery with a prior conviction, criminal mischief, and intimidation with a deadly weapon.
