  • 4:30 p.m. Miranda Able, 33, Mitchell, wanted on a warrant for failure to appear

Incidents – October 19

  • 12:00 a.m. An information report was taken in the 1000 block of Woods Ferry Road
  • 12:09 a.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37, north of the Oolitic light
  • 1:06 a.m. IU Hospital reported a female who was at the hospital for two hours left her 4-year-old child unattended at her home in Michigan City. Police say the child was with their father. Police were unable to locate the female
  • 1:34 a.m. An information report was taken in the 200 block of Greer Lane. A woman reported she felt like she was drugged
  • 2:26 a.m. Follow-up investigation in the 300 block of Clarks Ferry Road. A male and female were detained
  • 3:48 a.m. Report of cattle in the roadway on Old Buddha Road, north of Tunnelton Road

Incidents – October 18

  • 5:11 a.m. 911 call in the 7330 block of Clib Road in Orange County. A woman fell and possibly broke her hip. Orange County Sheriff’s Department responded
  • 6:56 a.m. Report of a possible fire was reported in the 100 block of North Industrial Park Way. The caller reported smoke was visible and it smelled like an electrical fire odor but there were no flames. Bedford Fire Department responded
  • 8:23 a.m. Warrant service in the 200 block of South 5th Street in Mitchell
  • 8:26 a.m. 911 call in the 1510 block of 23rd Street
  • 8:57 a.m. Report of a disabled vehicle in the 300 block of Judah Logan Road
  • 9:13 a.m. 911 call hang up in the 400 block of South 7th Street
  • 9:25 a.m. Threats were reported at Springville Academy. A teacher was receiving threats from two people. The caller is at the school and wants to speak to an officer
  • 9:31 a.m. 911 call hang up in the 40 block of Davis Drive. A call was from a child. It was an accidental call. A child was playing with the phone
  • 9:55 a.m. 911 call in the 1000 block of Bishop Boulevard at Mitchell High School
  • 11:01 a.m. Report of an erratic driver in a semi with a flatbed trailer traveling south on State Road 37
  • 11:11 a.m. Officers made extra patrols at Springville Academy
  • 12:04 p.m. Citizen assist in the 800 block of Davey Cox Road. A woman reported her 2 ½-year-old child who she has custody of was taken by her grandmother on Friday and not returned. 
  • 12:40 p.m. Warrant service in the 580 block of Diamond Road. A man was detained
  • 2:00 p.m. Drug investigation at Mitchell Junior High School. A juvenile was detained and released to their parents with a promise to appear in court
  • 2:18 p.m. Report of a suspicious vehicle in the 3000 block of US 50 West
  • 3:58 p.m. Warrant service in the 400 block of N Street
  • 3:01 p.m. Request for animal control in the 100 block of Amick Lane for stray cats
  • 3:09 p.m. Request for a welfare check at Persimmon Park Apartments
  • 3:16 p.m. A person was at the station to report residential entry
  • 3:46 p.m. Repossession in the 50 block of Clouse Road
  • 4:09 p.m. Citizen assist in the 400 block of 6th Street in Mitchell after a female came to the station to report an issue with a male. The female did not want to pursue criminal charges
  • 4:22 p.m. Trespassing was reported in the 3000 block of River Road. Someone was cutting firewood on the property without permission
  • 4:48 p.m. Citizen assist in the 600 block of Sasser Drive. A man was wanting to speak to an officer about his brother’s death and is wanting to retrieve his brother’s property but is afraid he will have problems with the landlord
  • 5:01 p.m. Traffic stop at 17th and G streets. The driver received a verbal warning
  • 5:32 p.m. Request for a welfare check on a female walking toward Bloomington on State Road 37 at Old State Road 37. The woman has a child wrapped in a pink blanket. The woman was in fetal possession along the first rock wall. Police assisted the woman with finding shelter. The woman didn’t have a child but a small dog
  • 5:56 p.m. Report of an erratic driver in a green Chevrolet Silverado at Oolitic Road and Ike Underwood Lane traveling toward Oolitic
  • 6:33 p.m. Request for animal control in the 800 block of Smith Avenue in Oolitic for dogs running loose
  • 6:50 p.m. Traffic stop at Hancock Avenue and State Road 37
  • 7:07 p.m. Warrant service in the 500 block of West Oak Street. Two males  were detained
  • 7:31 p.m. Report of an erratic driver in a white compact car traveling south on State Road 37 and Old State Road 37 
  • 8:13 p.m. Report of an unwanted person in the 600 block of Sasser Drive. A male was on the property attempting to get his deceased brother’s property. The male is causing problems
  • 8:14 p.m. Report of a tree in the roadway on State Road 60 East near Spring Mill State Park
  • 8:16 p.m. A resident in the 2110 block of Tunnelton Road requested a deer permit after hitting a deer with a vehicle
  • 8:42 p.m. Request for a welfare check on a possibly suicidal man in the 1000 block of Washboard Road
  • 8:50 p.m. An elderly female was at the station to report a scam. The woman lost $7,000
  • 9:21 p.m. Request for animal control on Tunnelton and Old Buddha roads for cattle in the roadway
  • 9:24 p.m. Report a woman, who is not the legal guardian of a 16-month-old kidnapped the child and is now traveling north on State Road 37 and State Road 60 East from Salem and is possibly headed to Bloomington. The vehicle was stopped a State Road 37 and Teke Burton Drive. A female was detained and the child was returned to the grandparents
  • 9:29 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and Salt Creek bridge
  • 9:58 p.m. Request for a welfare check on a possible suicidal male in the 200 block of Butterfly Lane who has a teen with him. The child reported hearing a gunshot. Police spoke to the male and he was working in his garage and was okay and not suicidal
  • 10:23 p.m. Theft of a vehicle in the 400 block of Wade Street in Mitchell. The owner of the vehicle is in the hospital and her vehicle a 2003 black Chevrolet Impala was stolen within the last 24 hours. The woman learned a male was picked up in the vehicle and it was towed and doesn’t know where
  • 11:18 p.m. Traffic stop at Hoosier Avenue north of Casey’s
  • 11:57 p.m. Officers made extra patrols in the 10 block of Robbins Lane in Williams
