Man tests positive for meth and is sentenced to prison

BEDFORD – On Tuesday, October 18, 2022, Judge John M. Plummer III revoked 904 days of probation and sentenced Jacob F. Hasler to the Indiana Department of Corrections.

Jacob Hasler

Jacob F. Hasler was convicted of battery by bodily waste and for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Level 6 felony, in December of 2021 and sentenced to serve 545 days of supervised probation.

Hasler failed to show up to numerous appointments, failed a drug screen that indicated he had ingested methamphetamine and had been arrested in another county on a charge of invasion of privacy as a Class A misdemeanor.

Judge Plummer III ordered Hasler to serve 904 days in prison.

“The Lawrence County Judicial system is setting the right tone, you will be given a chance to better yourself, to follow the rules, and become a productive member of our community or you will be held accountable,” said Prosecutor Sam Arp. “The punishment for probation violations is strictly governed by the Courts and Judge Plummer sentenced the Defendant accordingly”.
