Paving is planned next week on State Road 252 bridge west of Morgantown

MORGAN CO. — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor HIS Constructors plans to conduct paving operations early next week at the State Road 252 bridge over West Fork Crooked Creek in Morgan County.

The bridge is located just over a mile west of S.R. 135 near Morgantown.

On Tuesday, October 11, crews will flag traffic while paving is in progress. Crews will also stop traffic intermittently for up to 20 minutes at a time throughout the day. Drivers are encouraged to use an alternate route if possible. This work will be rescheduled if needed due to inclement weather.

Milling and paving are being completed to repair pavement at both ends of the bridge, which is currently reduced to one lane with temporary traffic signals for a bridge replacement project. Work is expected to continue on the project through later this year.

The $2 million contract also includes a structure replacement on S.R. 135 north of Trafalgar. S.R. 135 is anticipated to reopen at that location (1.23 miles north of S.R. 252) later this month.
