I-69 interchange work to close Epler Avenue west of State Road 37

INDIANAPOLIS – Construction of a future I-69 interchange is expected to close Epler Avenue west of State Road 37 starting Sunday, Oct. 2.

The closure is expected to remain in place into next year. The detour follows Banta Road and Concord Street.

The Epler Avenue closure begins west of Belmont Avenue. Local traffic is encouraged to access Belmont Avenue from Epler Avenue to the north or the realigned Southport Road intersection to the south. The Edgewood Avenue intersection at S.R. 37 closed in March.

When construction is completed, the future I-69 lanes will split off from the existing S.R. 37 north of Edgewood Avenue. A partial interchange will provide a southbound entrance ramp onto I-69 and a northbound exit ramp to Epler Avenue and Harding Street. View the Corridor Highlights Map for Marion County on I69FinishLine.com to view an aerial illustration.

Utility crews have been working in the area for months to install new service lines and clear the path for construction. The next step is earthwork to replace unsuitable soils.
