Internal investigation ongoing stemming from citizen complaints in Oolitic

OOLITIC – Concerns over Facebook messaging from the Oolitic Town Marshal James Harrington and community members were brought up during the Oolitic Town Council meeting Monday night.

An incident stemming from a car that may have not been parked properly, as well as other complaints, played a factor in each party involved leading to this issue.

Town Attorney Greg Pittman shared that a formal complaint via letter or email to the council would need to be written by the community member involved to bring it to the council before they could determine an investigation into the matter.

To remain transparent with his duties, Marshal Harrington has stated an internal investigation into the matter has begun regarding the complaints. Chief Greg Hagan has been tasked with the investigation, as he has the experience to handle the matter, according to Harrington.

The investigation is ongoing regarding the incidents and Marshal Harrington’s actions within the compounds of the law.
