Bedford man arrested after police find marijuana and meth

BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested Sunday when a Bedford Police officer stopped a blue GMC Jimmy after seeing it swerving between lanes on M Street.

The officer stopped the vehicle near 18th and M streets.

Billy Walker

The driver 55–year-old Billy Walker told the officer he was attempting to fix something on his driver’s door and that was why he was swerving from lane to lane.

The officer then asked Walker for his driver’s license and Walker said he didn’t have one.

The officer then asked to search Walker’s vehicle. During that search, the officer found a black metal container that contained marijuana and a silver grinder. Also in the container was a baggie containing 1.66 grams of crystal meth.

Walker was detained on charges of possession of meth and marijuana, driving while his driver’s license was suspended with a prior conviction, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
