Bedford man arrested after police find he was making meth in his backyard

BEDFORD – On Thursday, July 21, 2022, at approximately 1:38 p.m., a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputy, received a call from a concerned citizen reporting that her father was remodeling a home at 30 South Teddy Bird Lane and was concerned for a female at the home because 20-year-old Dylan Lagle had threatened her and was acting erratically, and was possibly making meth at the home.

Dylan Lagle

Police went to the home and stated their concerns. A woman told police Lagle was under the influence of drugs and that no family member was allowed in his bedroom.

The female told police Lagle was hallucinating, seeing things that were not there, and staying awake for extended periods of time.

She told police Lagle finally went to sleep and was in his room.

Officers asked if Lagle was making meth and she said he was in the back yard and something smelled like gas.

In the backyard, police lifted a piece of black plastic from off the siding, and found a brown tool bag containing items associated with operating a one pot meth lab.

Officers received consent to search the bag and found two bottles of Vicks Nyquil Cold and Flu, a bottle of Vicks Vapor Steam, a plastic bottle containing a liquid with the odor of diesel/camp fuel, a bottle of hydrogen peroxide, along with measuring  cups containing meth residue, hoses, lithium ion battery strips, a cap with hoses attached to fit a bottle, and clear plastic bags.

Police then applied for a search warrant for the premise and inside the residence. A search warrant was granted by Lawrence County Superior I Judge John Plumber III.

Indiana State Police troopers and deputies executed the search warrant at 4:59 p.m.

Lagle woke up and interviewed with the police.

The following items were found and seized from Lagle’s room. A plate with meth residue substance, two large plastic baggies and 1 small baggie containing meth residue, two aluminum can bottoms with meth residue, cut straws, a milk jug containing a syringe, seven used syringes, a plastic food tray, a black orange soft case, a vape, two lighters, an empty medicine bottle, and a spoon with meth residue.

Lagle admitted that he was attempting to manufacture methamphetamine with the items that he obtained. He told police that the used needles were used to inject suboxone.

Lagle was then arrested and transported to the Lawrence County Jail on charges of manufacturing meth, possession of meth, possession of drug precursors, unlawful possession of a syringe, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
